The room roars with laughter and shouts as the night goes by, and soon enough, guests start to trickle out few by few then all at once, until it’s only Callie. She’s helping me clean up with her lips still red, even when the clock strikes eleven.

Rumah Nomor 13 ini sudah beberapa kali ingin dirobohkan, namun selalu gagal karena kejadian mistis, seperti: alat-alat pertukangan yang terangkat dengan sendirinya dan beberapa konstruktor yang merasakan ada yang menyentuh tangannya, seperti digandeng. Dan itu adalah hal yang sangat mengerikan.
The Whistle
He would notice me and make silly faces. For some reason, I would always laugh every time he did it. My breath fogged up the glass and my face felt the warmth of my breath.

Namanya Flora. Mimpinya adalah untuk menjadi penyanyi. Ibunya adalah Kelly Merquin, seorang model yang terkenal di kotanya. Ibunya sangat ingin dan mendorong Flora menjadi model, namun Flora selalu menolak.

Malam pada akhir Januari itu adalah malam yang panas kucing di gang sebelah tidak mau berhenti mengeong dan kipas angin bututku mendesing dengan keras sedang protes karena terlalu sering dipakai. Dan sama seperti malam-malam sebelumnya, aku ingin pulang.
I Wonder
Every so often they would walk out of the unclosed door of their booth, which opened directly to their comfortably-, yet palely-lit pantry, the ceiling lights casting a vanilla hue refracted on the marble table top, framing their faces in a soft halo. Time would slip past their awareness, sometimes.
